For obtaining student visa in different countries there is a list of documents that has to be attached and presented to the government of that country and along with that there are tuition fees to be covered and more so over there are hundreds of other confusions that the student has to deal in with finding a residence in a nearby area, arranging for different facilities and all so over.

A student could apply for visa in many of the countries across the globe for pursuing their further education in that specific country abroad. Some of the countries where students could apply for are:

Student Visa in Canada

Canada offers a drop box visa application services for most of the cases where an applicant doesn't have to appear for an interview. For applying for a visa in Canada you are required to prepare your documents as per visa application guidelines:

  • For SPS Visa application, you are required to payment of tuition fees (1st year fees) and for General Visa (1st Semester fees) as per current guidelines and rules.
  • Process your GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate); Create GIC account and Pay CAD$ 10,200.
  • Do Medical (From Panel Physicians from your city)
  • Prepare visa file

    • Valid Passport
    • Attested copies of Grade 10, Grade 12 till last availed education.
    • Letter of Recommendations/ Reference - 2
    • Employer references (If ever worked) - 2
    • SOP (Statement of Purpose)

    • An acceptance letter from your education institution
    • Proof of payment
    • Proof of financial funds in form of Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC)

Student Visa in United States of America (USA)

For applying for a visa in United States of America you are required to pick one of the categories of visa that you want to apply for:

  • F1 Student Visa:
    If student wants to study in US and applying for a program which is more than 18 hours of study in a week require an F1 visa. This study course includes all undergraduate and graduate programs like MS, MBA and so on.
  • J1 Exchange Visitor Visa:
    J1 exchange visitor visa is for students, visiting scholars, and lecturers pursuing an exchange program. For instance — Many students on short-term study abroad programs from Indian universities will travel to the U.S. on a J-1 visa.
  • M-1 Vocational/ Non-Academic Student Visa:
    The M1 visa is for student's visa reserved for vocational and technical schools.

There is a list of procedure to be followed that would be required with the above mentioned to be attached in the visa file. Those are:

  • Valid Passport
  • Passport Size Photograph
  • Receive a Receive Form I-20 from your educational institution. Payment of the SEVIS I-901
  • After paying the SEVIS fee and getting a receipt, you can apply for a DS-160 visa form
  • Print the application form confirmation page to bring to your interview
  • Pay the visa fee through NEFT or at authorized bank locations
  • Schedule a Biometric appointment and Interview appointment
  • At the Biometric appointment, you will be required to appear in person to get your photograph clicked for the visa and get your fingerprints scanned
  • At the Personal interview, the interviewer will ask you questions about your choice, of course, college, finances, and intent of coming back. If s/he is convinced, they will keep your passport with them to get the visa stamped

Note: Remember, F1 student visas can be issued up to 120 days before the starting date of your course of study. However, you will not be allowed to enter the United States on F1 status earlier than 30 days before your start date.

Student Visa in United Kingdom (UK)

There is a list of procedure to be followed that would be required with the below mentioned to be attached in the visa file. Those are:

  • Valid passport
  • Proof of funds
  • Funds need to be maintained for 28 days (tuition fees + living cost)
  • CAS reference number - Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies
  • Documents used for obtaining the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies)
  • Colour photographs of passport size
  • Any additional document if required by the educational institution

There are some post study work options available to the students. The procedure for the same is as follows:

  • International students in the UK on a valid Tier 4 visa are allowed to stay in the country after finishing their education if they have a job offer worth at least 20,800 per year.
  • To stay in the UK, such students can move from a Tier 4 Visa to a Tier 2 General Visa with a five-year validity period.
  • Students' post-study work experience will assist them apply for permanent residence in the United Kingdom.
Student Visa in Australia

  • Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) certificate
  • Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement
  • Financial Requirements that you can fund your studies (funds to cover your return airfare, tuition fees and a sum of AU$18,610 per year)
  • Your English Proficiency test results
  • Australian approved health insurance cover
  • Verification of your criminal records

With the Student visa (Subclass 500) visa, the visa holder can:

  • Enroll in a course participate in an eligible course of study
  • Bring family members to Australia
  • Travel to and from the country
  • Work for up to 40 hours every two weeks during the course
